pre + postnatal fitness I prenatal yoga
Growing up involved in athletics in her home state of Colorado, Shannon developed an appreciation for movement at an early age. She has always loved the physicality and discipline of training as well as the comradery that comes with group sport and fitness. While training for triathlon in university, she was introduced to yoga as a method for recovery and injury prevention. However, it wasn’t until she moved to Vancouver several years later that she became immersed in the yoga community and fell in love with the vinyasa practice, which uses breath as a guide to find the balance between effort and ease.
In 2013, Shannon completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and continued her education in prenatal yoga while expecting her son. She enjoys creating and participating in classes that focus on alignment and form while providing the freedom to move in a way that just feels good. She specializes in creating flowing sequences that generate strength, stamina and stability both on and off the mat. Shannon teaches adult flow (vinyasa), prenatal yoga and pre/post-natal fitness classes.
Outside of the studio and fitness pursuits, Shannon also volunteers with BabyGoRound, an incredible organization supporting families in need across the lower mainland. She enjoys spending much of her time and energy with her very active toddler, wonderful husband, sweet little pup and epic group of friends – spending as much time as possible outdoors, exploring beautiful BC, and chasing the sunshine.
