At Üphoria Yoga, our aim is to provide an environment that encourages active engagement and exploration for all children in our care. It is our belief that educators must take each child's interests, needs and strengths into account in order to successfully co-create a relevant curriculum. We understand that each child is unique and will approach their learning in a variety of ways. We strive to accommodate each type of learner through the activities, equipment and materials offered.
Our teachers at Üphoria Yoga recognize social and emotional development as the fundamental groundwork for each child's success. Through positive teaching/modelling of these important life skills, it is our belief that children can reach their full potential.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM
When children first arrive, teachers will engage your children in "time-in" which includes breath practices followed by safe and developmentally appropriate yoga postures. During this time, our teachers introduce them to the mind-body connection through breath and body awareness. Followed by movement, they will wash their hands in and have their afternoon snack.
Next, children will engage in age-appropriate activities that will demonstrate independence, critical thinking, resilience and leadership skills. Children will be encouraged to choose their own activities and their level of involvement while the teachers’ role will be to allow children explore independently with the support and guidance they need.
Children will be introduced to science, sensory exploration, mathematics and fine motor skill activities such as working with puzzles, playdough, blocks and board games. We value the importance of language and literacy skills and our goal is to let children explore these skills using storytelling, felt stories, finger plays, reading and writing. In the dramatic play area, we will include puppet play, pretend play and role play.
Please note, this program is not a daycare. It is an after school pick up yoga & mindfulness program.
