our story

Euphoria is a feeling of extraordinary happiness and excitement. The way we felt when we met, fell in love, and began our journey together as husband and wife. When we welcomed our little Pasha into the world, he brought so much joy into our lives, we wanted to find a way to spend more time together to create magical moments and memories everyday.

Having a passion for teaching children and adults alike in our careers as professional yoga and tennis instructors, we began to follow a new dream of opening Vancouver's first family yoga academy for all ages, so that we could share that indescribable feeling with you.

Since founding Üphoria Yoga in Fall 2019 our family has continued to expand. Bringing our second son, Kiasha, into the world, growing our incredible team of yoga instructors and programs, and building our community of yogis of all ages has only multiplied our joy.

From our family to you and yours, we extend a warm welcome to Üphoria Yoga Academy.

TARA

CO-FOUNDER

Tara holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University. In 2010, she began her yoga journey to deepen her physical performance. After practicing for 8 years, she enjoyed a daily vinyasa and hatha practice. She then completed her early childhood education (ECE) and after another 2 years, her love and passion for working with children took centre stage when she discovered her desire to teach yoga to children. Within the last 5 years, she completed her 50 hour kids & Family Yoga Teacher Training and her 95 hour RCYT with a trauma-informed focus.

She began to teach children from infancy, all the way up to elementary school aged. She has taught yoga to children in a variety of settings such as, classrooms, schools and childcare centres and now, her very own studio. Furthermore, while embarking on her own journey of pregnancy, Tara discovered the benefits of prenatal yoga and its ability to support mental clarity in expecting mamas. This  inspired her to complete a 85 hour Prenatal Teacher Training and 35 hour Postnatal Teacher training.

At Üphoria Yoga, you can catch Tara teaching kids yoga, toddler yoga, family yoga and postnatal yoga. She combines her academic expertise with her love of mindful movement in order to create a positive impact on kids' health and wellness. Her classes are welcoming and she brings engaging and exciting elements into play like uplifting music, dance, storytelling and she always ends with relaxation and fun breathwork. Tara’s mission is to inspire each of her students to cultivate confidence, creativity and self-love. Off the mat, Tara loves spending quality time with her life/business partner, Shayan, her toddler, Pasha and baby boy Kiasha
