Emma

kids & family yoga

Emma holds a Bachelor of Education, specializing in Early Elementary Education. She has worked with children for over 15 years in a variety of roles including as a camp counsellor, swim instructor, and classroom teacher. As a dedicated lifelong learner and holistic educator, she reflects frequently on the mindset and skills that today’s children will need in tomorrow’s world. Emma aims to spark curiosity and help children develop self-love and awareness.

Emma was first introduced to yoga at the age of 13 for injury prevention and recovery as a competitive swimmer. Yoga flowed in and out of her life for many years, until she attended a class in Nicaragua and fell completely in love with the practice. For the first time, she understood the magic of yoga as a means of deeply connecting with and healing the body, mind, and spirit. This experience completely altered the course of her life, leading Emma to leave her career managing a private swim school and journeying to Alicante, Spain to study Hatha yoga.

She is a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher and 95-hr Registered Children's Yoga Teacher, with the latter including a trauma-informed approach to children's yoga. Merging her love for yoga and passion for working with kids is a dream come true.

In addition to teaching toddler, children's, adults, and whole-family yoga classes, Emma offers one-on-one and small-group yoga classes for neurodiverse learners.

Outside of teaching and practising yoga, Emma works as an autism play therapist in the Mount Pleasant community. In her free time, she practices Kundalini yoga and enjoys open-water swimming and barefoot walks.
