Mackenzie holds a Music Diploma in piano from Capilano University as well as completion of grade 10 piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Along with piano, Mackenzie is a classically trained soprano and plays various instruments including the bass, flute, and guitar. She encourages the use of interactive music within the yoga practice as she believes that it has emotional properties and benefits. Supporting this journey of using music as a healing modality, Mackenzie is completing her Bachelor of Music Therapy at Capilano University.

Mackenzie first discovered yoga when she was 10 years old after learning about it from her school teacher. From then onwards, she practiced yoga poses on and off. It wasn't until she was 16 years old that she developed a consistent practice in efforts to cope with stress. Shortly after her 18th birthday, Mackenzie completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training, where she was introduced to kid yoga and realized she would like to help those in need through the yoga practice.

Aside from teaching music and yoga, Mackenzie has worked in a variety of child-focused settings including; coaching soccer, teaching choral music, and guiding children through meditation. Outside of yoga and music, Mackenzie loves to spend time outdoors and can be found hiking or swimming in lakes. She also enjoys experimenting with different recipes to create sustainable, plant-based meals. Overall, Mackenzie encourages people of all ages, genders, races, sexual orientations, and abilities to try yoga; aiming to create a safe and welcoming place on the mat.
